* Wes Kibble recently pointed out that Ben Carlin wasn’t the only guy who tried to take a Ford GPA around the world. Inspired by Carlin, Lionel Forge made his own plans for a GPA round-the-world trip, using a salvaged craft (GPA #4545) fitted with the top half of a 1949 Dodge station wagon. Forge didn’t make it nearly as far as Carlin, but he documented it well and we can today read his story on eWillys and on Colin Stevens’s website.
* One small-block V-8 in a Chevy II Nova is enough for some serious quarter-mile times. Tommy Stringfield went with three in his Triple Trouble match-race car. DragZine.com has the story on the car.
* Over on the Jalopy Journal, Jive-Bomber hit us with several Bay Area dirt-track racing photos and promises more. We’re eagerly awaiting the rest.

* Finally, sit back and enjoy this excellent Ford-produced video on pre-WRC European rally history, as recently discovered by Scroggs at Hooniverse.
