Mopars have to be among the cars least likely to have their original engines, for a variety of reasons, and it seems that it’s an across-the-board affliction for them, from the lowliest straight-six car to the top 440-powered beast. So it’s refreshing to see that this 1973 Plymouth Road Runner not only has its original 400, but also wears all of its original sheetmetal. From the seller’s description:

For those who would like to get a fair representation of the value of this vehicle, the paint work is brand new, the entire car has been thoroughly tested by a State of Florida certified mechanic here in Daytona Beach. Compression, engine, transmission, brakes, have all checked out fine. I installed new belts, battery, plugs, wires, distributor cap, and had some exhaust work done. This car is 95 percent show quality. I would not use this as a daily driver, there is just too much work already done to it. With new headlight inserts, rubber moldings at the base of the windows and customized chrome to the engine compartment, this will easily fetch $25,000 – $30,000 at auction. I am unemployed right now and simply have run out of money to continue the project. I do not want to sell this car, but economic conditions force me to do so.
Vehicle is currently appraised at $20,000 by American Collectors Insurance. All documentation on the vehicle is available upon request. I have all original paperwork from the factory.
