Many collector-car enthusiasts seem to have this attitude that anytime a vehicle is modified in the least from its original configuration, then it’s a hot rod, for better or worse. Yet not every modified vehicle is a hot rod, as we see with this 1952 Chevrolet 3100 pickup. It’s not slammed on billet wheels, nor has it been subjected to an engine swap. Instead, it’s been selectively updated to keep it on the road and in service. From the seller’s description:

Truck has 235 cid engine-fitted properly, cylinder head fitted with hardened valves and seats to run unleaded gas. At time of rebuild – all new pistons, rings, rod and main bearings, cam and cam bearings, hydraulic lifters, timing gears, oil pump.  Full machining to block and to head. Rebuilt rocker shaft assy’s. Booster vacuum pump to stop wipers from stalling. Factory coolant overflow tank. New cooling system components, fuel system components, brakes, suspension. Bench seat and visors covered in gray leather. Front and rear parking lights and taillights converted to be turn signals. Complete wiring harness installed, 12v. Still uses foot starter, engine fitted with generator, oilers functional, outside visor installed. Truck has functional oak stake-sides, oak bed, polished stainless strips and bolts and beauty rings. Also new hubcaps, some spare parts, Mechanically A1. Torquetube removed and  heavy-duty open driveshaft installed. Rear gear 3.90, four-speed trans., tube radio, heater core and blower fan. Headliner and interior door panels upholstery board were replaced  with  fiberglass panels. Also replaced interior firewall noise-insulating panel with padding. Bedsides, front bed panel, tailgate were replaced. All rear-end bearings, wheel bearings, king pins, tie rod ends replaced. Monroe steering stablizer fitted. Steering box seals replaced and reassembled. Flywheel resurfaced, all new clutch parts.  Rear mudflaps. Tires will  be replaced prior to sale. All gauges refaced. Because of visor, traffic light viewer installed, anti-glare mirror installed. Spotlight. This is a good truck that needs a new owner.
