Rumors of mid-engine Corvettes pop up and dissipate like mushrooms most every model year, but this award-winning 1965 mid-engine V-8 Chevrolet Corvair is as real right now as it was when it was built in 1967. In the middle of the Tangerine Dream is a 327 small-block Chevrolet, backed by a four-speed transaxle. The owner road tested and destroyed many a transaxle before getting a bumpstick into the V-8 that increased horsepower in the upper RPM range while reducing the torque down low. The same man who conceived, constructed, and evidently drove the Corvair through a few sets of tires is now selling this well-sorted and award-winning dream. Read on for mid-engine Corvair testing exploits, and check out the listing for a full set of specifications.
