*From Telstar Logistics comes a post with news that filming for a movie based on Jack Kerouac’s “On the Road” was taking place in San Francisco this past week, and that a few streets of SF were lined with all sorts of immediate pre- and post-war cars. Looks like I’ll have to move that book up on my reading list if I want to get to it before the movie comes out next year.
* More news: StreetLegalTV reported this week that Vinsetta Garage, a Woodward Avenue fixture since 1919, closed its doors for good last week.
* Off-Road Action this week posted a rarely seen photograph of the Kaiser Jeep XJ002 Bolide concept, and reported that it’s currently undergoing restoration. Not as refined as the XJ001, in our opinion, but we’d still like to see it when the restoration’s finished!
* Tommy Ivo wasn’t the only drag racer campaigning a quad-engine car. Gary Weckesser had the Mach IV Mustang, and KustomBart posted a few photos of it this week.
* Finally, Django over at Hot Rod Chassis and Cycle rounded up a few photos of vintage junkyards this week. All of which, we’re sure, are long gone by now.
