Mercedes-Benz isn’t the only one celebrating an anniversary in 2011 – so is the Indianapolis 500. To celebrate the history and tradition of this great automobile race, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway will be hosting a very special event called the 100th Anniversary Celebration of Automobiles. Only cars built from 1911 to 1961 will be part of the show, the time period which represents the first 50 years of the Indy 500.

The Celebration will include two divisions: Division I will be for cars representing the 24 auto manufacturers that competed in the first Indy 500 of 1911, and Division II will feature all the other marques of cars built during these 50 years. This once-in-a-lifetime event will be held inside the grounds of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on May 13-14.

Only 250 cars will participate in the Celebration, so if you have a car that you think is worthy of being part of the show, you need to submit an application to participate. For more information, visit their website: www.indianapolismotorspeedway.com
