Judging from the Mehari in the background and the seller’s description of the DS23 as one of the most important cars of all time, I’m going to go out on a limb and say that it’s a dyed-in-the-wool Citroën enthusiast who’s selling this 1973 Citroën DS23 on Hemmings.com. Then again, not many casual car collectors are willing to put a DS23 in their driveways. From the seller’s description:
1973 Citroen DS23, IE Pallas, Electronic Fuel Injection, 5 speed. The last and best DS. Rare. All original very low mileage example. Gold mist with Tobacco reindeer hide upholstery. Perfect. Looks, runs and drives as new. Some cars exhibit pure brilliance that brings so many new things to the industry, they become benchmarks by which others are judged. That’s certainly true of the Citroen DS. Launched at the Paris Motor Show in 1955, the DS was light years ahead of its rivals in terms of technological development. The unusual bodywork wasn’t just about making a style statement, for it was the most aerodynamic machine on the road in its day with a Cx of 0.34. Couple that to a unique self-leveling hydropneumatic suspension, which gives the DS an unequaled ride quality, headlamps that swivel with the steering to see round corners, inboard disc brakes and a fiberglas roof to keep weight to a minimum, and it’s easy to see why the DS is regarded as one of the most important cars of all time.
