Hemmings Nation, keep your eyes peeled. Blog reader Erik Miner wrote us to let us know that two of his father’s prized possessions, a 1966 Corvette convertible and a 1969 Camaro SS clone, were stolen from his father’s storage facility in northwest Arkansas July 27 or July 28. The Corvette theft is especially disheartening because Erik’s father is the second owner and has had it since 1974. More on the cars:
1966 Chevrolet Corvette – VIN #194676S127342. Sunfire Yellow, black interior, black top. Engine is 327/350. 4 speed, front disk brakes. Car is in very good condition. Car was numbers matching.
1969 Chevrolet Camaro – VIN# 124379N707667. Cortez silver with black stripe. (no other SS features) SS emblems have chipped white paint. Black interior. Engine is 327/350. Automatic with shift kit. Car is idles rough when in gear, just after startup… idles fine in gear. Might have black Arkansas antique license plate.
If you spot either of these cars, let us know or contact the Bella Vista Police Department at 479-855-3771 with details.
UPDATE (9.August 2010): Great news – both cars have been recovered.
