Johnny emailed us to let us know he’s a big fan of the Pinto Air Freight Crosley, and that he recently came across another small(ish) truck in Gerlach, Nevada. While I wouldn’t call any Dodge WC-series truck small, they were only rated at 1/2 ton, and the Chevrolet tanker with a severe case of sunburn behind it does make the Dodge comparatively shrinky-dinky. And, a bonus, sitting right next to the Dodge is a teeny tiny tow truck Ford COE. Johnny speculates on their origins:
Well, Gerlach is a small town, and one man – Bruno Selmic – owns about 80 percent of it. He owns the town gas station, bar, casino, restaurant, motel, & trucking company. Gerlach doesn’t have a church or a store. These vehicles were likely used by him – one to tow people stranded in the Black Rock Desert, the other for delivering fuel.
