A couple months back, when Automodello sent us one of their 1/43rd-scale Griffith Series 200 models to review, they also sent us an original ad, below, for the Griffith, which came from Gene’s Foreign Car Service at 329 South Court Street in Rockford, Illinois. The last time the Google Street View car passed by that address, it was vacant. All that we’ve turned up on the history of that dealership is that the building was originally occupied by LaVerne Wishard’s City Body Shop until the local Studebaker dealership went out of business, prompting LaVerne’s move out of the building.
