Hershey isn’t just about October anymore, but it’s always very much about consciousness-altering automobiles. Here is a case that proves our point. Save the date of June 12, which is when 60 very rare cars will combine to form The Elegance, a gathering on the lawns of the lovely Hotel Hershey.

The Elegance will serve two worthy functions: Unite amazing cars on the lawn, and also salute the history of motorsport in Hershey (it once hosted both hillclimbs and oval racing inside Hershey Stadium) with The Grand Ascent, a Saturday climb for vintage race cars.

Among the invitees to The Elegance are a 1931 supercharged Bentley, one of 50 built; a Cadillac V-16 Aero Coupe and a 1932 Maserati 8C3000 that still gets its legs stretched. It’s all to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, AACA Museum and AACA Library. For information, call 717-534-1910 or visit www.TheEleganceatHershey.com.
