The Cadillac is, of course, an American dream, but it isn’t solely an American dream. Haruo Saito first became enamored with Cadillacs when he spotted a pair on the streets of Tokyo in the mid-1970s and a decade later had built himself quite the collection of 1950s Cadillacs, housed in a specially constructed museum in the mountains west of Tokyo. For SIA #90, December 1985, Richard Segerstrom caught up with Saito and toured the museum. By the way, a quick googling for the museum turned up nothing; anybody know whether Saito’s museum and collection are still around?
