From last week’s experimental V-5 diesel at the Olds Museum in Lansing, Michigan, we move on to another group of experimental engines at the same museum, though built for a much more different purpose. In SIA #76, August 1983, Dennis Casteele gave us a glimpse of three high-performance Oldsmobile V-8s – a Hemi-headed design, a SOHC design and a DOHC design – designed to do battle with some of the nastiest and most exotic engines the competition offered in the heady days of the musclecar era.
