Moving the memories of Mack

Written by webmin

One of the attractions for passionate vehicle people in Macungie, Pennsylvania, has long been the Mack Trucks Historical Museum, located on Main Street, just steps from the huge show field at Macungie Park and a Mack assembly plant. Since last summer, the museum’s collection has been moved to the newly organized Mack Customer Center in nearby Allentown.

That move was spun off the 2009 relocation of Mack’s world headquarters – since 2001, Mack has been an operating unit of Volvo AB – from Allentown to Greensboro, North Carolina. The museum consolidates Mack’s operations in the Lehigh Valley; its holdings include one of the first open tour buses that John and Augustus Mack built in Brooklyn, New York. It’s managed in cooperation with the America on Wheels Transportation Museum in Allentown. The Mack Museum is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  For information, call 610-351-8999 or visit www.macktrucks.com.
