Judge Tops Mecum St. Charles Sale

While bidding on the 1969 Charger Hemi R/T four-speed we mentioned here last week stalled out at $115,000, resulting in a no sale during Mecum‘s St Charles auction, September 16-19, the 1969 GTO Judge convertible we previewed and a 1969 Boss 429 Mustang each broke the $200,000 mark.

The Judge and the Boss tied as the top sales of the event, each hauling in $220,000. The next highest earner was a 1958 Impala convertible with a 280hp 348 that sold for $102,000.

Rounding out the top 10 sales were

1. 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge Convertible, 400, four-speed: $220,000

2. 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 Fastback, 429, four-speed: $220,000

3. 1958 Chevrolet Impala Convertible 348, automatic: $102,000

4. 1969 Plymouth Road Runner two-door hardtop, 440, four-speed, A12 Package $96,000

5. 1959 Cadillac Series 62 convertible 390, automatic: $90,000

6. 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle Coupe 540-cu.in big block, automatic $87,000

7. 2002 Ferrari Modena 360: $86,000

8. 1987 Buick Grand National GNX, 3.8-liter, automatic: $80,000

9. 1964 Chevrolet Malibu Custom, 511 cu.in. big block, five-speed:  $76,000

10. 1958 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible 283/250 HP, four-speed: $74,000
