It was in June that we last discussed the ShamRockAway, a.k.a. Noah’s Ark, a.k.a. that big eight-legged Buick motorhome, and we’re proud to say that through the efforts of our readers, it has not only been located and confirmed to still exist, but the current owner of it has been convinced to put the ShamRockAway up for sale through Hemmings so that some enthusiast will be able to save it and put it back on the road. From the seller’s description:

Guess what? I have Noah’s Ark, the ShamRockAway Buick motorhome, it can be purchased, I am open to offers from one or a group, title, diary.

That diary, by the way, is a sort of travel log for the ShamRockAway from the time when builder J. Dennis McGuire of Alma, Michigan, used it as a motorhome around the Great Lakes region. In speaking with the seller, we also discovered one more unique aspect of the ShamRockAway’s history: It was apparently used as a campaign bus for Bob Tisch’s unsuccessful run at the Michigan governor’s office in 1982. The current owner obtained it several years back out of a junkyard to ensure it would be saved, but unfortunately, hasn’t been able to do much with it since.

Whoever ends up buying it, please keep us updated on its fate!
