Oh, Canada, what automotive treasures you have up there. I still absolutely need a CMP, and last time I was up there, I spotted a right-hand-drive Nissan Skyline GT-R out on the streets. Now I see on Hemmings.com this 1981 Toyota HJ45 Land Cruiser “Troopy.” I really should make another run north of the border one of these days. From the seller’s description:

This is a factory LEFT HAND DRIVE, in beautiful and original condition. Original red paint, H diesel 6 cyl. motor, 83 000 kms, 4 speed standard. Likely the nicest example in North America, this truck is rust free and bondo free. Matching numbers, all factory plates and stickers. Formerly had a camper top as was setup to go on an African safari, and then never used. Purchased originally in Europe by current owner/collector and then shipped to Canada. BC registration. Garage stored, summer driven only. Air conditioned. Mechanically perfect and ready to use. These trucks are extremely rugged and reliable. This long body style is known as the 45 series, and with the covered roof is known as the Troopy or troop carrier. With fold down bench seats in the back the truck can seat 13. Although all Troopys are rare, beware and compare this truck to right hand drive, heavily worked and rusted trucks from the Australian outback priced like this one.
