Saratoga Springs, New York, the storied home of thoroughbred racing, will welcome a field of prancing stallions of an entirely different sort, when the 2010 Fall Ferrari Festival arrives at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center on September 10-12. In addition to a display of the featured automobile, the Ferrari 575 GT Zagato Coupe, highlights of the event include a display of Zagato-bodied automobiles and a design symposium led by Andrea Zagato, the head of the iconic carrozzeria founded by his grandfather, Ugo Zagato, in 1919.

In addition to Ferrari and Zagato, the festival will shine a spotlight on Alfa Romeo. The legendary Italian automaker, which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year, has deep ties with both Zagato and with Enzo Ferrari, whose career was launched with a stint as a driver for the Alfa Romeo works team.

The Ferrari Festival, now in its second year, is part of a three-day celebration of Italy’s excellence in wine, food and automobiles, and is presented by the Italian Trade Commission. The festival benefits the Saratoga Performing Arts Center, the summer home of the New York City Ballet and the Philadelphia Orchestra, and the Saratoga Automobile Museum.
