It basically occupies a single house, so when Marty Himes opens up his Long Island Racing Museum to the public for its annual open house, that’s really saying something. If you plan to be on Long Island, Marty says come on-a over a my house on Sunday, August 29th, from 10 a.m. to dusk, rain or shine.

The Long Island Racing Museum is located at 15 O’Neill Avenue in Bay Shore. Among the displays at the incredibly compressed collection will be the restored number 447 Sportsman that Jim Lacy raced at Freeport Stadium in 1959 and 1960. For information, call 631-666-4912.
