If you’ve been reading the section on trucking history that we’ve recently added to Hemmings Classic Car, then you’ve seen the camera craft of Joe Wanchura, who hails from Muncie, Indiana. It may come to pass that Joe is heralded as the Matthew Brady of commercial trucking. His photos depict rigs from the 1950s and earlier as they really were: grimy, gray, beaten but never bowed.
True truck fans will now be able to appreciate a piece of Joe’s diesel history every month. Old Time Trucks magazine is releasing a 2011 calendar of images from his archives.
