California brims with a lot of wonderful things, including vintage sports cars, and one of their biggest fans is the author and historian Art Evans. He reached out to remind us that the Sixth Annual Concours de Provenance is set for Sunday, October 31, beginning at 10 a.m. at the South Coast Botanic Gardens on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, near Torrance.

You can see from this 2009 view that the event has attracted some treats such as the lightweight Healey and the Arnolt-Bristols. If you want to show a car, contact Davey Jordan, 909-289-8516 or daveynormajordan@hughes.net. Art, we should add, is also trying to document a racing school run by Sam Hanks and Ken Miles during the 1950s. If you can help, call him at 323-325-3980.
