Put-in-Bay, Ohio, is about the only town of consequence on the North Bass, Middle Bass and South Bass islands north of Sandusky in Lake Erie. Big summer destination, normally reached by ferry, but it’s neat to see how the year-rounders up there adapt to winter and the icing over of the lake. Steve Donohoe pointed my way to this video set to Pat Dailey’s “Here in the North,” featuring winter scenes from PiB. Specifically, I’m including it here for the vintage ice racing footage that starts at about the two-minute mark, but there’s a few other cars of interest sprinkled throughout. Gotta wonder if they were able to get #13 out!
