Independence Day is coming up, and if you act quick enough, you could conceivably buy this 1953 American LaFrance, get it home, then enter it in your local Fourth of July parade, lights and sirens going wild, all for less than the price of a brand-new three-quarter ton pickup. From the seller’s description:

This unique emergency vehicle has a 1000 gallon per minute American LaFrance two-stage “Triple flow” centrifugal fire pump, and is equipped with a 200 gallon booster tank. The motor is an American LaFrance “J” series 12 cylinder gasoline engine which produces 215 horse power, using 24 spark plugs (two per cylinder, powered by two distributors). The motor is equipped with dual Zenith downdraft carburetors. Coupled to the large power plant is a Fuller 4-speed manual transmission.

Parade ready, this beautiful example comes complete with all the bells and whistles! Acquired from large collection of antique and historic emergency vehicles; this 700 Series starts, runs, and drives fantastic. The siren and pump still work like new! A truly unique addition to any collection.
