For all of Jesse James’s celebrity and Monster Garage shenanigans, most people forget that he was – and remains – a serious player in the SoCal hot rod and custom scene, as we can see from this 1952 Chevrolet Styleline that James built (and later sold to Tim Allen) and that evokes the glory days of customs in the 1950s. From the seller’s description:

The metal work on this 1952 Chevrolet Styleline is simply outstanding! It was chopped and smoothed just right for that perfect body line! The exterior was finished in flat mine green w/custom pin striping done by none other than “Hot Dog” Pete Finlan. The interior was finished in classic black w/white piping and white door panels! A custom cut steering wheel, original gauges, original dash and 23″ Lokar shifter round out the classic hot rod interior that’s as comfortable as it is functional! Tim put a lot of time, effort and money rebuilding the entire driveline and added a complete air-ride system as well! The original 216 c.i. inline six was completely rebuilt by H&H Engines in La Cresta, California, and runs beautifully! The TH350 3-speed automatic transmission was rebuilt by Camels Automotive and shifts through the gears smooth and crisp.
