Every year we give out a free subscription to Hemmings Classic Car magazine to the winner of the Driveable Dream award that is given out at the AACA Gettysburg Region‘s Antique & Classic Auto & Truck Show. Now in its 36th year, the event was held June 11 and attracted 241 significant collector cars and trucks to the Latimore Valley Fairgrounds in York Springs, Pennsylvania. This year’s winner of our Driveable Dream award went to the worthy 1906 Cadillac Model K owned by Harry Johnston. Not only is this “physician’s runabout” Cadillac very rare, but it’s the only one known to exist in original condition.

According to club president Ed Rogers, “This Cadillac shows traces of its original maroon paint, including its red chassis and original red striping. The leather interior was maroon with black piping, which is noteworthy because some Cadillac restorers never realized that those cars used contrasting piping.”
