I admit that I could count on one hand how many camping trips I endured in my youth – in fact, I would not need the use of all five digits. That aside, I can’t ever recall seeing – or hearing – of anyone who selected the Hutch option for their 1974 Chevy Nova hatchback, which, according to the ad from said year, conveniently converted their highway cruiser into a KOA Campground portable pop-up. I mean, how much room could there have been? And how much did Chevy pay the guy in the bear suit?

The option certainly could not have been new then, and I last recall seeing it available on the Pontiac Aztec. Have any of you out there in Hemmings Nation had any personal experience with these car-into-camper options – mechanical in nature (this is a family-based blog), particularly the Nova?
