Jaguar is celebrating its 75th anniversary in the U.S. with 175 specially trimmed XKR175 coupes

Jaguar Cars Ltd. is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, and one of the ways that the automaker is toasting this milestone is by introducing a limited-edition of 175 XKR175 coupes for the American market. Not only does the 175 refer to the number of cars to be built, it also signifies the car’s top speed, which has been raised from an electronically limited 155 MPH. Setting the XKR175 apart from a run-of-the-mill 510hp, supercharged V-8 XKR are cosmetic changes that include high gloss Ultimate Black paint, special 20-inch “Kasuga” alloy wheels, red brake calipers and an aerodynamically tuned lower body kit. Warm Charcoal leather with Cranberry stitching and Piano Black veneers trim out the interior, and numbered sill plates indicate the car’s place in the line. The price of this piece of history is $104,500, and the XKR175 will make its debut at this August’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
